Budapest Marriott, Hotel With a View
The Budapest Marriott is possibly the ugliest building in Budapest. It is also possibly the most scenic location in the city, with sweeping views of the Danube River and Castle Hill. As an added bonus, staying in the ugliest building in the city means that it isn’t blocking the fantastic view.
The hotel is laid out so that all the rooms have river views. You have a choice of the Elizabeth Bridge,
the Chain Bridge,
or Castle Hill.
We splurged for the view of Castle Hill. The rooms were recently renovated and well-designed.
Seriously, look at that window seat!
Marriott Gold members will have access to one of the best lounges in Europe.
The concierge lounge has a spacious terrace that doubles the seating area and offers 180 degree views.
Budapest is an amazing food city, so we didn’t eat in the lounge. Long after cocktail hour, the bar was fully stocked with a selection of liquor, local beer and Tokaji wine. If it fits within your budget, this lounge is worth the upgrade to a Concierge level room.

Thanks for visiting the blog!
I nominate the Budapest Marriott as the world’s ugliest hotel. Look at the competition at http://www.no-news.co/destination/magazine/item/354-the-10-ugliest-hotels-in-the-world.html; none of them arre remotely as awful at this one.
